Reports indicate two members of law enforcement were killed Monday during an attack at Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan.
ABC 57 reports that a man “on his way to jail took a gun off a deputy and started opening fire.” WZZM’s David Bailey tweeted that the two deceased persons are bailiffs, and the man who stole the deputy’s gun is dead is well.
The Detroit Free Press reports that a fourth person was injured during the shooting, but does not provide details on the person’s name or condition. The Michigan State Police (MSP) confirmed the shooting at 2:30 pm local time.
Governor Rick Snyder (R) tweeted that MSP have the courthouse secured and investigation into the incident is underway.
