Left-wing YouTube commentator Cenk Uygur, creator of The Young Turks network, delivered an epic rant on Super Tuesday that has since gone viral, calling for “trench warfare” against the Democratic Party establishment.

“It is about to get way, way uglier,” Uygur said, lamenting the fact that Democratic Party leaders had rallied behind former Vice President Joe Biden to oppose Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

“We’re going to go to war, and a war like you’ve never seen. Because progressives online are not going to go quietly into that good night. They’re not going to be like, ‘Oh, Joe Biden’s senile. We’ll let it go.’ Joe Biden has an awful, awful, awful record on civil rights.”

Uygur lashed out at the “establishment media” for distorting Biden’s record, and for tarnishing Sanders, saying that progressives had to “kick their God-damned asses” — not physically, he was careful to note, but “forcefully.”

Biden, he argued, could not possibly defeat Donald Trump, partly because of his alleged loss of mental acuity.

“And now, here we go, an establishment candidate that is far worse [than Hillary Clinton], with his mental faculties under question… And you’re going to run that guy against Trump?” He went on to guarantee that Sanders would win the nomination, though he did not explain how the embattled “democratic socialist” from Vermont would do so.
Uygur was also on the ballot on Super Tuesday, losing in the special election and the primary for California’s 25th congressional district. The winner was Democrat Christy Smith, with Republican Mike Garcia winning the right to challenge her in November.
