Texas Cop Gets Prison Time for Smuggling Drugs in Police Vehicle

A former Texas peace officer will spend more than ten years in prison for using his position to smuggle drugs and launder money. The former cop tried to claim that he had been doing undercover work while using his police vehicle to move drug loads across state lines, federal prosecutors said.

Three Mexican nationals from the state of Coahuila crossed the Rio Grande and made their way north into Texas just north of the small border town of Quemado. After the migrants crossed U.S. Highway 277 between Eagle Pass and Del Rio, they tripped a surveillance camera, sending an alert to Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Texas National Guard soldiers, and U.S. Border Patrol agents. The manhunt was underway.

The Biden-Harris administration announced on Monday that it will expand the controversial CBP One App irregular immigration program to make it even easier for migrants to enter the United States. The expansion of the program, never authorized by Congress, will enable migrants near Mexico’s southern border to enter the United States.

Federal Appeals Court Rules Texas Can Keep Floating Border Barriers

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled that Texas can keep the buoys Governor Greg Abbott ordered installed in the Rio Grande. The Biden-Harris administration sued the State of Texas to stop Texas from placing the barriers in the river that separates Mexico from the U.S.

200 Mexican Convenience Stores Close in Border City After Cartel Threats

One of Mexico’s largest chains of convenience stores closed all of its locations in the Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, following a series of threats from the terrorist organization Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas. The mass closing of almost 200 stores comes as the Tamaulipas government remains impotent against the various drug cartels that rule over the state.
