Chris Matthews: Dems Have to Nominate Someone for 2020 Who Hasn’t Discarded the White Working Class

Saturday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” commentator Chris Matthews said the Democrats cannot afford to nominate someone for the 2020 election who has “discarded the white working class.”

“I think whoever the Democratic candidate is next time, it’s got to be somebody who hasn’t discarded the white working class,” Matthews told host Joy Reid. “It has to be somebody who doesn’t go to Carole King concerts all day.”

He later added, “I think the white working class today feels they’ve been discarded by the Democrats. … We’ve got to get them back.”
