Krauthammer: Sanctuary Cities ‘Speaking the Language of the Southern Segregationists’

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “O’Reilly Factor,” columnist Charles Krauthammer compared the rhetoric of sanctuary cities to the “nullification and interposition” rhetoric of segregationists and Confederates.

Krauthammer said that as part of an immigration system, sanctuary cities should be punished, and “you notice how these liberals, who want to do the sanctuary cities are speaking the language of the southern segregationists. The language of nullification and interposition, which incidentally, was the language of the Confederates. … We live in a federal system.”
