Megyn Kelly Decries ‘Language Like Bimbo,’ Says Hillary Correct to Call Internet a ‘Refuge’ for Vile, Insulting Comments’

Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Fox News Channel host Megyn Kelly was interview by show co-anchor George Stephanopoulos on a number of topics, including her dust-up with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

On her dust-up with Trump, Kelly called it bizarre because she had become “the story.”

“That was highly pleasant – yeah, I enjoyed that,” she replied. “No, it was bizarre because I became the story. He was so very focused on me. I became the story and you never want to be the story when you’re a newsperson. You want to be covering the story. So it was truly an ‘Alice through the looking glass’ type of experience.”

As for the question she asked Trump, she said she did not regret it.

“No, I still think it was a great question,” she continued. “I standby every question I asked him. And he wasn’t the only one who had tough questions. He, however, was the only one who complained.”

Stephanopoulos also asked Kelly to react to a People magazine interview with Clinton in which the Democratic presidential hopeful called the Internet “a refuge for people to engage in some of the most vile, personally insulting comments about everybody – myself or anybody else.”

Kelly referenced the word “bimbo,” which was a word used in a tweet that retweeted by Trump last week.

“That’s the problem with language like ‘bimbo’ and so on because it gins up other comments along those lines, which is diminishing obviously to not just the woman who is being attacked, but to women in general. So hopefully we can get to a point here we can elevate the level of debate.”
