Wednesday on “Live With Kelly and Michael,” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said his call to ban Muslims from entering the Untied States has “nothing to with religion” and claimed it was about safety.
When asked if his plan would violate the Constitution, Trump said, “These are people that are not in the country. The people that are in the country are in the country. We’re not talking about them. These are the people that are outside of the country so we’re really not talking about the Constitution. And it’s not about religion this is about safety. This has nothing to with religion. It’s about safety. A lot of problems are happening in our country. I mean hey look, we can go to many different things. You look at trade you look at what China and all these countries are doing to us. They’re taking our money they are taking our jobs. There are so many problems that we have in the country.”
