Amy Poehler Tells NRA to ‘F**k Off’ over Social Media Post

Actors from the popular TV series Parks and Recreation attacked the National Rifle Association after the group used of a gif featuring a character from the NBC show.

CNN reports that former stars of Parks and Recreation took to Twitter to attack the National Rifle Association (NRA) for their use of a GIF featuring actress Amy Poehler who played the lead character of the TV show. The NRA posted a tweet thanking NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch for representing the group at CNN’s town hall this week, in response to the deadly Florida school shooting. The GIF very simply featured Poehler’s character saying, “thank you,” and pointing, which was enough to anger actors from the show’s cast who took to Twitter to attack the NRA.

Michael Schur, the creator of Parks and Recreation, which ended in 2015, replied to the NRA on Twitter requesting that the organization remove the tweet. “Hi, please take this down. I would prefer you not use a GIF from a show I worked on to promote your pro-slaughter agenda,” Schur tweeted.

Schur also delivered a message on behalf of Poehler (who doesn’t have a Twitter account). “Also, Amy isn’t on twitter, but she texted me a message: ‘Can you tweet the NRA for me and tell them I said fuck off?'”

Nick Offerman, who played the popular character Ron Swanson, also tweeted at the NRA saying, “@NRA @DLoesch our good-hearted show and especially our Leslie Knope represent the opposite of your pro-slaughter agenda – take it down and also please eat sh*t.”

So far, the NRA has refused to delete the tweet, despite the temper tantrum from Hollywood leftists.
