EXCLUSIVE: 21K Venezuelan Migrants in 12 Days Crossed Border into One Texas Sector

A Texas Department of Public Safety official told Breitbart Texas that Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents took nearly 21,000 Venezuelan migrants into custody during a 12-day period. The spokesman compared the current Venezuelan migrant surge to that of the 2021 Haitian migrant crisis in Del Rio, Texas. During the 2021 crisis, nearly 20,000 Haitian migrants crossed into Del Rio from Mexico during a 17-day period.

Agents assigned to the Brownsville Border Patrol Station apprehended more than 1,600 migrants who crossed the border from Mexico to Texas during a 24-hour period ending on Sunday. Officials report increasing numbers of migrant apprehensions during the past few days as the end of Title 42 approaches next month.

Migrant Father, Child Rescued from Texas Border River

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brownsville Station teamed up with Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations officers to rescue a migrant father and son when they became trapped in strong currents in the Rio Grande. The pair attempted to cross the river with a group of about 49 migrants.

MS-13 Member Arrested with Children near Texas Border

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a member of the transnational criminal gang known as Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) on Friday. The agents found the gang member traveling with two children and a group of nine other migrants. Earlier that day, agents arrested two other criminal aliens who had crossed the border illegally into the U.S.
