As of Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at least 2,112 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan as a result of the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to an Associated Press count.

The AP count is three fewer than the Defense Department’s tally, last updated Monday at 10 a.m. EDT.

At least 1,751 military service members have died in Afghanistan as a result of hostile action, according to the military’s numbers.

Outside of Afghanistan, the department reports at least 127 more members of the U.S. military died in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Of those, 11 were the result of hostile action.

The AP count of total OEF casualties outside of Afghanistan is two more than the department’s tally.

The Defense Department also counts three military civilian deaths.

Since the start of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan, 18,957 U.S. service members have been wounded in hostile action, according to the Defense Department.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

_Pvt. Errol D.A. Milliard, 18, of Birmingham, Ala., died July 4 in Farah province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with a rocket propelled grenade while on dismounted patrol; assigned to the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, White Sands Missile Range, N.M.

_1st Sgt. Tracy L. Stapley, 44, of Clearfield, Utah, died July 3, at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar, in a noncombat-related incident; assigned to the 308th Medical Logistics Company, Saint George, Utah.

_Spc. Hilda I. Clayton, 22, of Augusta, Ga., died July 2, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, of a noncombat-related incident that occurred in Qaraghahi, Afghanistan; assigned to the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera), 21st Signal Brigade, Fort George G. Meade, Md.
