Syrian Recovery Multi-Donor Trust Fund's board meet in Abu Dhabi


ABU DHABI, 19th June 2014 (WAM) –The Steering Board of Syrian Recovery Multi-Donor Trust Fund (SR MDTF) on Tuesday at its second meeting discussed the latest developments of the fund’s activities, projects previously approved, strategy, activities, a proposal for sectors on which the fund will focus in the future, as well as the ratification of the fund’s framework agreement.




At the meeting, chaired by Khaled Al Ghaith, U.A.E. Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, the fund’s steering board, which was founded by U.A.E., United States, Germany, decided to convene its next meeting in November in United States.




Kuwait, France and Japan joined the steering board as new members at the meeting in Abu Dhabi.




Syria was represented to the meeting by Eyad Qudsi, Deputy Prime Minister of Syrian Interim Government.




Senior delegates from United States, Germany, Turkey, Japan, as well as Denmark which also represented both Finland and Sweden, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Germany’s development bank KfW, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), and the embassies of France, Kuwait and Germany in U.A.E.




took part in the meeting.
