“Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked …”
Oh, wait! Wrong speech. Wrong address. Wrong guy. OK, here it is. From the Oval Office.
“On Wednesday, 14 Americans were killed as they came together to celebrate the holidays. They were taken from family and friends who loved them deeply. They were white and black; Latino and Asian; immigrants and American-born.”
Seriously? The worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11 and President Obama is still wearing his race-hustler glasses? This is just another opportunity to divvy up his people by the color of their skin?
What an embarrassment.
No, Mr. President. These were not whites, blacks, Latinos or Asians. That is not why they were killed and has no business being discussed in the present crisis.
These were Americans. And they were enjoying their freedom peaceably at a holiday party in the most powerful country on earth that stands as this world’s greatest hope for religious freedom. That, Mr. President, is why those 14 Americans were killed.
You are the ONLY person who looked at them and saw race.
It is truly amazing the lack of seriousness and cynical political gamesmanship President Obama brings to every facet of being commander in chief.
Sunday night’s address was only the third time in his seven years that he has delivered an address from the Oval Office. The last time was August 2010 when he announced to our enemies around the Middle East that he would be withdrawing the last American troops from Iraq.
And now we are fighting the most ferocious and determined jihadis in human history, called the Islamic State in IRAQ and Syria. Gee, Mr. President, do you think that maybe your last Oval Office address might have queued us up for this last Oval Office address?
And people wonder why real estate developer Donald Trump has risen to such stunning levels of statesmanship in this country. Well, this is why. Because Donald Trump is, literally, Winston Churchill or Franklin D. Roosevelt compared with this aimless nincompoop.
Then the president says things in his lecturesome tone like this: “Tonight, I want to talk with you about this tragedy, the broader threat of terrorism, and how we can keep our country safe.”
As if “this tragedy” and the “broader threat of terrorism” are somehow two different things.
And: “So far, we have no evidence that the killers were directed by a terrorist organization overseas, or that they were part of a broader conspiracy here at home.”
Are you kidding me? What proof does this guy need that it is all part of a grand conspiracy to destroy the very country he has sworn an oath to protect.
Or: “Our nation has been at war with terrorists since al Qaeda killed nearly 3,000 Americans on 9/11.”
At war since 9/11? No! The big lesson we learned from 9/11 is that they had been at war with us for a long, long time — deep into the first Clinton presidency — and we simply were not paying attention. Until 9/11, that is. Just as President Obama is STILL not paying attention today.
The president even claimed his own “surge” — in intelligence-sharing with allies.
Remember that evil word, so roundly mocked by Democrats and peaceniks ridiculing President Bush for dispatching reinforcement troops to seize back control of Iraq.
Those were the days. Back when we were killing them over in Iraq so that they were not killing us here in San Bernardino.
