UK’s Biggest Abortion Provider Threw Dead Babies in Open Bin, Says Damning Report

Staff at Britain’s biggest abortion provider left dead foetuses in an open bin and tried to give a vulnerable woman an abortion even though she did not understand what was happening, a watchdog has warned.

A damning report says inspectors were forced to intervene after a woman with learning disabilities became visibly “upset” at a clinic run my Marie Stopes (MSI), adding the situation was “poorly and insensitively handled by doctors”.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) ordered Marie Stopes to stop all terminations involving anaesthetic or sedation in August after inspectors raised concerns. Now, a report has been released detailing a catalogue of failings at the charity’s clinics across Britain.

Inspectors found dead foetuses were simply thrown in an open bin in one clinic, while staff also bulk-signed up to 60 consent forms at a time with little evidence they were familiar with the patients’ situations – potentially allowing illegal procedures to take place.

The CQC also condemned poorly-trained staff, poor infection controls, and said staff were failing to get proper consent.

Marie Stopes performs around 70,000 abortions each year, but was banned from opening new clinics, while all services were also suspended at its clinic in Norwich. It was allowed recommence restricted services in October, but the CQC report will cause serious concerns among the public.

In one example, foetal tissue was left in an “open hazardous waste bin” at the clinic in Norwich, which was not emptied between cases.

In South London, nurses and healthcare assistants were left to obtain consent, despite the law saying doctors must do this.

Meanwhile, inspectors also found poor hand hygiene, failures in pre-surgical preparation and infection control at a clinic in Maidstone, Kent.

Staff also had little or no training regarding female genital mutilation or in spotting signs of child sexual exploitation, with medics at some clinics only knowing about these issues through previous experience rather than staff training.

Pro-life campaigners have hit out at the abortion provider, with Peter D Williams, Executive Office at Right to Life, saying the report was “nothing short of an indictment”.

“This report points to the need for more stringent regulatory oversight and protections to ensure that women and girls, at a profoundly vulnerable point in their lives, do not fall victim to the callous and thoughtless betrayal of their welfare as has been demonstrated to exist in MSI and broader abortion practice. This, for too many, has been the reality of so-called ‘choice’,” he added.

In 2014, Breitbart London reported how aborted babies had been burned to heat hospitals in Britain. A report found 797 foetuses had been incinerated in a “waste to energy” plant in one hospital, while another burned foetal remains with general waste.
