Grassley: Dems Playing Politics on Coronavirus — ‘Don’t Recognize What a Serious Situation Is’

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) accused Senate Democrats of playing politics on the coronavirus stimulus bill because they were failing to recognize the seriousness of the situation.

Cavuto asked, “Is your sense that a stimulus bill will be passed by the latest tomorrow? ”

Grassley said, “I could not say that. In fact, it is just the opposite. I thought we would have this thing done by now, today considering how very, very serious this situation is. Not only a health situation but an economic situation, there should be no playing of politics. Just like we Republicans didn’t play politics when Nancy Pelosi sent us over a bill, we just passed it and said it right onto the president. There were a lot of things that we Republicans swallowed that we didn’t like.”

He continued, “This is time to put politics behind. It is extraordinary about the Democrats are doing. It is one thing if we are voting final passage on a bill. We can’t even get the bill up for discussion. They won’t let us get it up for discussion.”

He added, “You tell me what they are up to. They just don’t recognize what a serious situation is.”
