There weren’t a lot of takers for Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s appearance on Tuesday at the USS Iowa in San Pedro, CA as far as cable news goes.
Left-leaning MSNBC carried the majority of it live. CNN, host of tomorrow night’s GOP debate, broke in and out of coverage with an assembled panel from Simi Valley, CA – site of tomorrow night’s second Republican debate, but only with the event playing in the background of the panel discussion.
Fox News, where you would expect Trump to be broadcasted, was featuring the network’s The Kelly File hosted by Megyn Kelly, who has had her problems with Trump, in a program featuring Trump’s competitors Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio.
Trump’s speech was later featured on the network’s Hannity in a tape delay. However, the decision of Fox News not to feature Trump and instead feature his competitors could suggest there is an effort by his opponents to team up against the frontrunner.
