Bradley Cooper Tells Howard Stern He Set Up Obama’s Appearance on ‘Between Two Ferns’

Actor Bradley Cooper revealed on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM Radio show Tuesday that he masterminded President Obama’s infamous appearance on Zach Galifianakis’ comedy interview web show Between Two Ferns.

Cooper told the show he introduced the idea to Obama administration senior advisor Valerie Jarrett while at the White House discussing ways to promote the Affordable Care Act to the nation’s youth.

“What about Zach, and what about Between two Ferns,” Cooper said of his suggestion that Obama appear on the web show with Galifianakis, after telling Stern that he was not “a political guy.”

Cooper said he was at The White House as part of a “brain storming” meeting to “promote health care to young people,” and as he went through a reception line to greet the President, and after saying “hello,” Obama responded: “I’m going to talk to Zach.”

“So you actually facilitated a moment in history,” Stern told the actor, in reference to Cooper introducing the idea of Obama’s appearance.

Obama’s appearance on the show, which is popular among young people, has been credited by the White House as a major factor in the enrollment push that helped the Obama administration achieve its 11^th hour goal of 7 million sign-ups on its government-run marketplace.
