Ben Rhodes, Deputy National Security Adviser for former President Obama, wrote on Twitter that he was looking forward to the obituaries of prominent Republicans after a photo surfaced of them flashing a thumbs up with President Donald Trump.

“I hope this is the photo they use on the front page of the Times on the day Trump is indicted,” wrote former Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer, who shared the photo on Twitter.

“And alongside the obits for Ryan, McConnell, and Pence,” Rhodes added.

That triggered criticism from Speaker Paul Ryan’s spokeswoman AshLee Strong who called the tweet “irresponsible and dangerous.”

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, who was shot this year by a leftist, also weighed in.

Even Politico’s Jake Sherman got involved in the condemnation of Rhodes’ tweet, but fellow Obama bros Tommy Vietor and Cody Keenan lept to his defense.

Ryan’s spokesman Brendan Buck just wanted it all to stop.

It got weirder.
