Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s daughter, Kathleen, posted a photo to social media, alerting fans that the Kennedy family spent the Fourth of July bashing Donald Trump, literally. The photo shows the family enjoying a Trump-shaped pinata.
Kathleen, who goes by “kickkennedy” on Instagram, posted the image of the Trump pinata to her Instagram account during the family party on Saturday with the caption, “It’s a yuge party!” But by Monday morning, she appeared to have second thoughts and had tried to delete the image. The deletion came too late, though, as the story had already spread throughout the media.
The photo was up long enough for the Kennedy’s “A-List” friends to show their support of the photo. Posting compliments were such personages as actress Glenn Close, model Jessica Joffe, publishing heiress Anne Hearst, the daughter of former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and other jet-set types.
The family compound in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod is only miles away from the area where, in 1969, Sen. Ted Kennedy drove off a bridge, killing Mary Jo Kopechne, a passenger in his car. The 28-year-old woman was rumored to have been Kennedy’s secret girlfriend and may have been pregnant when she died inside the car Kennedy left submerged in a tidal channel.
A number of Kennedys have already endorsed Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton for president, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend (former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland and daughter of Robert), and Rory Kennedy (Robert’s daughter).
