Dave Brat Says Omnibus Set Stage For Obama’s Gun Grab

Virginia Republican Congressman Dave Brat says: “Right now we have a majority in the House. You wouldn’t know it sometimes. But we do.”

Brat didn’t offer any answers to fight Obama’s executive gun control order at this point, given that establishment Republicans paved the way for it by passing the omnibus bill and giving away any leverage.

Brat made the comments today to Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon.

Brat criticized the gun grab for going into the private information of Americans, those on Social Security, for instance, and for disincentivizing individuals with mental health issues from self-reporting. “It doesn’t do that much but they screwed up the gun piece,” said Brat.

“It goes into people’s private lives, as usual…. They’re incentivizing the gun program in the wrong way. It’s going to come back to bite them because they’re doing it all the wrong way, which is what happens when you just get political.”

Brat said Obama made the announcement primarily to distract from his many failures, especially on immigration and national security.
