Chris Christie is blaming Hillary Clinton after North Korea‘s claim it tested a hydrogen bomb. The New Jersey Governor says the former Secretary of State failed to properly respond to the dictatorship’s nuclear activity when she was in office.
“Three out of the four nuclear detonations that the North Koreans have done have happened on Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s watch, and they have just not acted strongly at all around the world,” Christie said in an interview on Fox News this morning.
Christie criticized Obama and Clinton for failing to address the nuclear threat posed by North Korea as their attention was focused elsewhere. “The fact is that we’ve allowed North Korea, while the President’s been playing footsie with the Iranians, we’ve allowed the North Koreans to get further and further down the nuclear road,” he said.
In 2009, Clinton described the leaders of North Korea as “small children and unruly teenagers and people who are demanding attention.”
That angered the North Koreans at the time, who responded that Clinton was a “funny lady” and ”by no means intelligent” as they mocked her looks.
“Sometimes she looks like a primary schoolgirl and sometimes a pensioner going shopping,” the statement from a North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
