“We consider this martyerdom. You confess your faith, you die for your faith.”

Those are the words of TrueNorth Star Ministries Director Christy Grammon, who spoke exclusively with Breitbart News about the way many in Roseburg, Oregon, have responded to the news that Christians were singled out and murdered during the Umpqua Community College massacre.

Although their faith was attacked, their faith has not been shaken. If anything, the shooting that President Obama immediately attempted to poiliticize for his gun control agenda has ended up strenghening the faith of many in Douglas County.

Grammon’s group conducted prayer and worship services on the front lawn of the Douglas Country Courthouse all weekend in conjunction with a number of different churches and denominations. The messages and music happened nonstop, 24 hours a day over the weekend, and ended mid-morning on Monday.

Grammon told Breitbart News, “This is an amazing community and the love that is expressed here has just been phenomnal, but our faith is very critical.”

Grammon emphasized that pastors across Douglass County all came together in the wake of the shooting to lend spiritual support to residents. As TV station KPIC reported a few days ago, in an interview with another pastor, the outpouring knew no bounds:

“We’re going to be open for anyone; Christian, non-Christian, we don’t care who you are,” says Pastor Tim Powlison with New Life Christian Center. “You are welcome to come and if you need to talk, you need someone to cry on, you need someone to pray for you, we are going to be there for you.”

Grammon told Breitbart News, “We are honoring the fallen as martyers. We are honoring the wounded the same way because they were struck by a wicked source.”
