John Kerry: We Will Never Forget Those We Lost In Benghazi

Secretary of State John Kerry remembered those lost during the September 11 attacks in 2001 this morning, but he also paid tribute those lost in the 2012 attacks on the diplomatic consulate in Benghazi.

“We will never forget those who died three years ago in Libya: Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods,” Kerry said in a statement. “Each was a brave and dedicated professional; each was deeply committed to service on our country’s behalf; and each sought nothing more nor less than to help people overseas to live in freedom, dignity, and peace.”

Kerry pointed out that since the attacks of September 11, America responded with strength, vigilance, and determination.

“Their example remains before us and – on this sad anniversary – our thoughts and prayers are with their families,” he said.
