On Sunday, a shootout between rival biker gangs at an Waco, Texas, Twin Peaks restaurant left nine dead — all of whom “were bikers.”
According to KWTX 10, the clash between the two rival gangs has been brewing for some time and police had been working with the restaurant to try to resolve it. Moreover, Texas State Troopers were actually in the parking lot of the restaurant “trying to secure the area and protect citizens when [the] fight broke out inside the restaurant and spilled into the parking lot.”
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said “the fight quickly escalated from fists and feet to chains, clubs and knives, then to gunfire.”
“Gang members were shooting at each other and officers at the scene fired their weapons as well,” he said.
KCEN TV reports that no officers were injured in the shooting and that three arrests were made once the shooting was over.
Police are asking “that civilians avoid the area, because they believe more biker gangs are traveling to the area.”
