On Thursday, as she gears up for what could be another run at the White House in 2016, Hillary Clinton said she was a “huge supporter” of amnesty.
At a New York “No Ceilings” event with her daughter Chelsea, who announced that she was pregnant, an illegal immigrant DREAMer who came out during the question-and-answer session asked Clinton where she stood on the issue.
“I have a very different glass ceiling than some of the girls are exhibiting here. For the first time publicly, I want to say that I’m an undocumented immigrant,” 19-year-old Nova said, according to the New York Observer.
Nova said she came to the country illegally from Croatia when she was five.
Clinton called her “incredibly brave” and said she was “strongly in favor” of the Senate’s immigration bill that would lower the wages of American workers, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
“I think that was a big missed opportunity for our country,” Clinton said. “I’m a huge supporter of immigration reform and a path to citizenship and will continue to advocate for that.”
