Black Student Sent Racist Text Messages to Himself in Bid for Student President

St. Peter’s Prep was the victim of a racism hoax this week, when a black student running for student president claimed that he had been sent racist texts warning him to drop out. It now turns out that the 16-year-old student sent himself the text messages.

School spokesman James Horan said, “The entire Saint Peter’s Prep community is relieved that this extremely distressing incident has found closure, and we commend the various law enforcement officials for their diligent work on this case over the past months.”

At the time of the texts, the boy’s father said the teenager was “extremely nervous and feels threatened.” The father stated, “He is the type of boy who does not want any kind of trouble. It’s so sad. He doesn’t want the image of the school to be tainted. It is a predominantly white school and there may be a few sections of the school who are fearful of a new face trying to get in office.”

One of the text messages read, “We have NEVER and will NEVER have an n***** to lead our school.” It then called President Obama by the name Hussein and used a racial slur about him. “We will never make that mistake again,” the message said. “Drop out right now.”

Another message said, “Whites! You’re a waste on this earth, a waste at this school, and most importantly a Waste for this campaign.” Again the message carried a racial slur.

The third message said, “COMEONE your black!!! lol you’re a joke for even trying to run.”

The student was elected vice president of the student council but no longer goes to the school.
