Poll: CA Gov. Jerry Brown Hits Record Approval Ratings After Tax Hikes

Gov. Jerry Brown may be running the state of California into fiscal disaster; he may be taxing the people of California at record rates. But they love him all the same. According to a new poll from the Public Policy Institute of California, 46% of California adults say that Proposition 30, a massive tax hike hitting all members of California, made them feel better about state finances. They’re getting what they wanted, of course – 55% say they’d rather pay higher taxes for more government programs. Only 40% say the opposite.

Jerry Brown’s approval rating stands at a sterling – for him – 48%. That’s his highest rating yet.
