Jimmy Hoffa's Body Found?

A rumor has surfaced that the body of former Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa is buried under a suburban Detroit driveway. A man in Roseville, Michigan, claims he saw Hoffa’s burial.  

Hoffa was last seen at a suburban Detroit restaurant on July 30, 1975. The homeowner has lived at the home for roughly ten years and is cooperating with the investigation.

Although the FBI is skeptical, police said they will take soil samples for testing. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality used ground penetrating radar on a 12-foot-by-12-foot patch underneath the driveway and said they found an “anomaly.” Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said the police are “not claiming it’s Jimmy Hoffa” but are “investigating a body that may be at the location.”

Hoffa was declared legally dead on July 30, 1982.

Former FBI agent John Anthony, who spent years investigating Hoffa’s disappearance, said: “I would say it has no credibility at all. It doesn’t match up with anything we already know. I’d say it’s just another story – someone trying to get publicity or looking after a reward.”

A soil sample will be taken Friday and tested at Michigan State University for human decomposition.
