Florida Senator Marco Rubio is taking another hard-line position on immigration reform, this time in regards to the thousands of illegal immigrant children and adults that have been flooding the U.S. Southern border.
Rubio appeared on Fox News’ “The Kelly File” with Megan Kelly, saying that in order for the mass illegal immigration flood along the border to stop, those people enter the U.S. illegally, needed to be “returned to their home countries.”
I agree we need to be humane, that’s what Americans have always been…but what would be inhumane is to allow this to continue, and the only way you are going to stop this from continuing, is in fact if people are returned to their home countries.-Senator Marco Rubio
Rubio co-sponsored and became the face of the controversial and highly unpopular Senate “Gang of Eight” immigration reform.
Because of his support for the bill, Rubio has had to expend significant political capital to stay above water among conservatives, who lost faith in him over his support for the amnesty-lite immigration bill.
Rubio now seems to be taking a more familiar and hawkish position on immigration reform.
