While an initial determination by police claims no laws were broken, they did see enough in a series of texts from a 42 year-old male teacher to a 15 year-old female student to turn matters over to the Crimes Against Children Unit for further investigation.
However, in the meantime, the teacher reportedly went to the home of the student to talk with her father, who asked him to leave. When he didn’t comply, reports indicate the father took matters and a baseball bat into his own hands.
Thursday morning, the teacher went to the girl’s home in the 4600 block of Vicky Road to speak with the girl’s father. The teacher did so without permission, police said.
“The girl’s father then struck the teacher with a baseball bat.
“The officer found that the teacher sustained minor injuries and advised him of the process for swearing out a complaint of second-degree assault (a misdemeanor),” the release continued. “The teacher said he did not wish to pursue charges.”
So far, no charges have been filed. Police are not releasing the names of the girl, her parents or the teacher.
