BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Federal agents raiding a human stash house in Brownsville ended up charging one of the illegal aliens with weapon charges after they found a handgun with the serial number filed off.
Wednesday morning, Oscar Romeo MARTIN-Zacarias – from Guatemala – went before U.S Magistrate Judge Ignacio Torteya who formally charged him with illegal possession of a firearm by an alien and ordered he be held without bond pending a preliminary hearing later this week.
Agents with Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Border Patrol had raided a home in Brownsville, where they arrested four undocumented immigrants. They spoke with Romero, who told them that he had a gun in a safe inside the house, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas show.
The agents seized a Hi-Point .40 caliber handgun that had the serial number filed off. During questioning by agents, Romero told them that he had purchased the gun for $150; the documents don’t show his reason for buying the handgun.
The man told agents that he had been deported in the past.
