Benjamin Crump: 99% of Time Police Not Charged When They Kill Young Black People

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” the attorney for the family of the late Michael Brown said,”Ninety-nine percent of the time police officers aren’t charged when they kill young people of color.”

Host George Stephanopoulos asked if Crump has already prejudged what the grand jury is going to say and decided the process is unfair. 

Crump answered, “The process is completely unfair. Ninety-nine percent of the time police officers aren’t charged when they kill young people of color.” adding, “In America we have a constitution. We have a right to a trial by jury. I have no doubt that if they were to indict the police officer he would be granted his full constitutional rights of innocent until proven guilty. He will get every benefit of the doubt. I dont worry about due process for Officer Wilson, I worry about the due process for the little black boy dead on the ground.”
