Coulter: Media '100% Lying' About Ernst

Columnist and author of “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican,” Ann Coulter accused the media of “100% lying” about comments made by GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst in Iowa that she believes in owning a firearm to protect herself from “a government” that wants to trample on her rights on Wednesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

“She [Ernst] said she supports having a gun to protect herself and her family from intruders or from a government that wants to take away my rights. They have changed that to ‘the government’…she’s obviously talking about the possibility of some future tyrannical government” Coulter argued.

“The difference between a government trying to take away my rights and the government is enormous. And I’ll give you an example of it. I defended Chris Matthews when he talked about how he thinks of the president or he said a president when he makes love to his wife. Everyone thought he said ‘the president’ but I said, ‘no, he said a president.’ It’s like thinking of baseball. See, ‘the’ and ‘a’ makes a huge difference in a case like that” she continued.

Coulter added that Republicans should counter charges of racism by Democrats by pointing out that Democrats have come out in favor of “the right of foreigners to move here and take black people’s jobs. That’s how Republicans need to hit this now. We’re the party that is opposed to guest worker programs taking your jobs. It is well-established that immigration hurts black workers the most.”

She also mocked the demise of Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis (D), saying “it’s funny how every election liberals, the media, will choose their designated candidate, the golden girl, it’s always a girl. And instead of reporting the news, they try to make news. Oh, my gosh, it was Wendy Davis. Oh, we heard about her endlessly. ‘Will Wendy Davis be the next governor of Texas?’ She’s kind of faded from the other networks, hasn’t she?”
