Friday on Fox Business Network’s “Imus in the Morning,” after playing a clip of Shepard Smith downplaying the Ebola risk, host Don Imus took the Fox New anchor to task saying he, “was out of line.”
Imus said, “They follow that an hour from Neil Cavuto, which was riveting, coverage of this potential crisis. I have a compromised immune system, so does Neil, but not one of us are jumping up down screaming it is the end of the world. If any of these news organizations or any of these experts, here’s what I would like to happen, tell us what you know and don’t speculate about what you don’t know and don’t tell us things that you think are going to make us feel better or calm our fears.”
“Some of the idiots who appear on these various networks, the various doctors and so on, they say unequivocally that cannot be transmitted through airborne,” he added. “But they don’t know that. We don’t know that. So be willing to say that.”
