Madeline Albright: Israel is Overdoing Military Operation, Hurting Their 'Moral Authority'

Tuesday on CNN’s “New Day,” former secretary of state in the Clinton administration, Madeleine Albright, said Israel has lost their “moral authority” because of the “proportionality” of their response to Hamas lobbing rockets indiscriminately into their cities.

The first woman to have become the United States Secretary of State said “I do think that the point has to be made that if rockets are being shot at Israel that Israel does has a right to defend itself, but the bottom line is a question of proportionality” adding, “It is hard to watch the number of Palestinians being killed, innocence. It is hard to dispute the fact that, as Prime Minister Netanyahu has said, in fact there are innocents being put in the way in order to act as shields, but the bottom line is, I think this is hurting Israel’s moral authority. I do think that it looks as though they are overdoing it.”
