Krauthammer on Obama's 'Tremendous Level of Arrogance': If Republican, He Would Be Impeached

On Thursday’s “On the Record” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision released earlier in the day striking down what President Barack Obama had claimed to be recess appointments on the National Labor Relations Board despite the Senate not having been in recess.

Krauthammer explained it was part of a broader issue with the Obama’s governance and could be a signal of things to come for the Obama administration in the courts.

“This is arbitrary government at a very high level and tremendous level of arrogance,” Krauthammer said. “And I think this may be a signal that the Boehner lawsuit, if they get standing before the court might succeed and Obama might lose.”

Krauthammer speculated if Obama were a Republican, he could be facing impeachment, which he attributed to being forced to overreach, since he has been unable to work with the other side as president.

“Look, he is not a natural politician,” he added. “I don’t think he even likes politics, which is odd for a man who is president. He clearly has completely failed at doing what the president has to do, which is work with the other side. But the worst part of it is he doesn’t care about the Constitution. There will be presidents after him. And if he gets away with all this overreach — creating laws, rewriting laws, ignoring laws — it will be a terrible defeat for the country and for the rule of law. And I think that’s the worst part of this. If this were a Republican, he would be impeached now over all of these abuses.”
