Matthews on his Obama Interview: 'He Came Amongst Us'

Immediately after his interview with President Barack Obama on Thursday, MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews showed he was clearly mesmerized by Obama by saying the president “came amongst us.”

Partial transcript as follows:

DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political media culture that he has to work within, and that he’s really looking to rally people, students here–
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Well, if that’s the case –
CORN: – and supporters, and people within the media.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today.
CORN: I know.
MATTHEWS: He came amongst us.
CORN: Which is what he’s trying to do. He’s trying to rally people behind this vision that he’s been promoting for a couple of years.
MATTHEWS: On the cable media.
