'Game Change' Filmmakers: Movie More Sourced Than Book

CNN’s Howard Kurtz grilled director Jay Roach and screenwriter Danny Strong on their depiction of Gov. Sarah Palin in the HBO film “Game Change.” The filmmakers defended their portrayal, stating their sources went beyond Mark Halperin’s and John Heilemann’s book, including all the depicted persons save Palin and Sen. John McCain as well as Palin’s own book “Going Rogue.” Roach explained that the research done beyond the Halperin/Heilermann book made him empathetic towards the pressure Palin was under throughout the campaign.
