A high school football team in Louisiana is being accused of cheating by reading their opponent’s playbook online. Destrehan High School reportedly obtained their opponent’s password for a website that houses game film and playbooks from a player on the opposing team. Destrehan beat their opponent, South LaFourche, 49-24, last Friday.
According to the Shreveport Times:
Undefeated Destrehan (8-0), the No. 5 ranked football team in Class 5A, is at the center of an investigation by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association for a possible cheating method that could break ground in this state.
“We’ve never dealt with anything like this before,” LHSAA executive director Kenny Henderson told The Times on Tuesday.
The scandal revolves around Hudl, a website that can house game film, practice film, schemes and play books for football teams.
It appears, through a South LaFourche player, Destrehan’s staff got hold of South LaFourche’s username and password and spent roughly 12 hours on the site.
