Liberal Talk Radio Station Goes Out of Business, Replaced by Sports

A liberal talk radio station in Buffalo that had been syndicating left-wing talkers like Bill Press, Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, and Randi Rhodes went off the air and was replaced by ESPN sports talk radio.

On Thursday, Entercom Liberal Talk 1520 WWKB Buffalo flipped completely “to sports utilizing programming from ESPN Radio,” and the new format will air the national ESPN Radio feed in its entirety.

“Effective immediately, WWKB AM 1520 is becoming ESPN Buffalo, 1520 AM,” the station announced.

Entercom Buffalo Operations Manager Tim Wenger simply said that “Buffalo is a passionate sports town and the appetite for sports programming on the radio keeps growing.”
