Teenager Accused of Tagging Courtroom During His Graffiti Hearing

A teenager facing charges of graffiti vandalism “tagged” the San Diego courthouse in which he was being prosecuted.

Francisco Canseco, 18, was arrested on five new felony counts of vandalism, according to the Los Angeles Times. His previous vandalism charges were all misdemeanors.

Mark Milton, a detective with the sheriff’s department, said authorities believe Canseco applied the fresh graffiti to the courthouse during a hearing on previous charges of graffiti vandalism.

According to NBC 7 San Diego, authorities used a Graffiti Tracking System to check for related vandalism and found out that Canseco had been arrested by San Diego police in connection with at least 60 other instances of graffiti vandalism.

Ultimately, authorities obtained a search warrant at Canseco’s house, where they discovered more evidence connecting him to the graffiti at the courthouse. The teenager was re-arrested and must now appear in court twice in the next two weeks.
