Today, the names of the three Jews murdered by Hamas via rocket attack in Kiryat Malachi were released by the government of Israel. One of them was 26-year-old Mirah Scharf, a Chabad emissary to Mumbai, India, visiting Israel for the fourth anniversary memorial service for two other murdered Mumbai Chabad emissaries – Gavi and Rivka Holtzberg, the couple murdered in the Mumbai terrorist assault in November 2008. Scharf was pregnant.
The other two victims were Ahron Smadja, 49, father of an eight-month-old baby girl, and 22-year-old Yitzchak Amsallam
Smadja’s baby daughter was injured in the attack. Smadja was reportedly one of the first members of Chabad to join the Israeli Army.
