Our monarchist media are gushing over Queen Michelle’s 50th birthday in a big way. CNN has been broadcasting hagiographic segments all day and has scheduled an hour-long special for tonight titled, “An Extraordinary Journey: Michelle Obama Turns 50.”
ABC News takes the cake, though, with its fawning listicle titled “50 Ways to Celebrate Michelle Obama’s Birthday.” The list is really nothing more than a list of all the reasons ABC News thinks the First Lady is OMG Awesome! Included in the list…
Make the cover of Vogue, Buy a Jason Wu dress, Get bangs, Watch Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing” on your first date with your future husband, Laugh out loud, Roll your eyes at House Speaker John Boehner or the Danish prime minister, Shop at Target with sunglasses on.
