While the rest of the nation worries about why the federal government was unable to stop the terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon, the New York Times is concerned about the continuation of harsh interrogation techniques after September 11. According to the Times, a “nonpartisan review” has found that “it is indisputable that the United States engaged in the practice of torture.” The Times added, “the nation’s highest officials bore ultimate responsibility for it.”
There is only one problem, as Newsbusters points out: the group quoted, the Constitution Project, is a leftist group headed by Virginia Sloan, who said back in 2005 that she would jet-set to Belize to avoid Washington D.C. during the Bush second inauguration. “This does not seem like a hospitable place for Democrats this week,” she told the Times. And a former Times reporter directed the panel that created the report.
Leave it to the Times to avoid the obvious leftist bias of a particular study in pursuit of their own “nonpartisan” agenda.
