'Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt?' Hits Theatres This Weekend

For those of you waiting for the final chapter of the Atlas Shrugged trilogy, the wait ends today, Friday, when “Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt?” lands in 254 theatres this weekend. You can use this site to find a theatre close to you. Naturally, if the film does well, it should expand in the coming weeks.

Box Office Mojo expects Shrugged fans to bring in a cool $1 million this weekend, which lines up with the openings of the previous chapters. Part 1 (2011) opened to 1.69 million. Part two (2012) bested that with $1.75 million.

Of those who have already seen Part 3, 71% gave it a positive review at Rotten Tomatoes, which is in line with the two previous chapters that went on to gross $4.6 million and $3.3 million, respectively.

If you want to catch up before heading off to the theatre, “Atlas Shrugged: Part II” is currently streaming on Netflix.

Here’s an excerpt from an email sent out by the film’s producer, John Agliaro:

The left hopes no one goes to the theater this weekend. They don’t want their own collectivist mentality compared with Rand’s belief in the individual. They do not want her integrity of thought to reach the sunlight. The result of their philosophy is the message of Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt? and it shows quite clearly that force “for the good of all” is a hell on earth for mankind.

That is why the movies are constantly shunned by Hollywood, the majority of the press, and the universities (of all places!). As we know, Atlas Shrugged sells roughly 200,000 copies yearly without their support.

These guys put it together on their own and did so by going around the Hollywood Machine. They also put their money where their mouths are, and kept the promise of finishing the trilogy.
