We already learned actor/director Robert Redford has a warm spot for those ’60-era radicals who were willing to kill in order to force the U.S. government from its “imperialistic” path.
Now, Redford confirms he’ll play a key role in the upcoming Captain America sequel. The actor is set to co-star as the head of S.H.I.E.L.D., the spy organization that helped rescue our star spangled hero at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger two years ago.
“I wanted to do something just to be different. Something bold, different. And that felt like a good thing to do. That was it, nothing more to it than that. Well, it’s bold in terms of expectations, I guess.”
Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters April 2014.
