Will NBC Stick with Roseanne 'Hate Tweets' Barr?

Roseanne Barr is supposed to return to network television this fall – assuming she’s not elected president. But is NBC having second thoughts following Barr’s recent, hateful, Tweets?

Barr’s new project, the NBC comedy pilot “Downwardly Mobile,” would mark her highest profile gig since her landmark sitcom “Roseanne.” The new show even reteams her with her on-screen “Roseanne” beau, John Goodman.

That was before Barr’s incendiary Twitter feed took a turn for the nasty. First, Barr Tweeted that she wished former Vice President Dick Cheney would die rather than accept a heart transplant.

This week, Barr Tweeted the home address of George Zimmerman’s parents. Zimmerman is accused of killing Florida teen Trayvon Martin, whose death has ignited racially charged protests across the country.

Barr eventually yanked that Tweet, but earlier promised to share more private information with her followers:

George Zimmerman already has a bounty on his head courtesy of the New Black Panther Party, and other death threats have come about since Martin’s death.

Does NBC really want to be associated with such a hateful personality, a comedienne with little disregard for the safety of others and the rule of law?
