LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) —
A Southern California was shopping at a Walgreens in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angeles when she saw what appeared to be a swastika pattern on blue and white gift wrap.
“I saw it immediately. I think I have a good eye. I panicked. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Cheryl Shapiro told KABC.
The wrapping paper was featured in the Hanukkah section of the store.
Shapiro complained to managers, prompting Walgreens to recall the gift wrap. They did not comment on the design.
“We are in the process of removing the product from our stores,” a rep for Walgreens told NBC4.
“I came home and I spoke to my rabbi. He couldn’t believe it,” Shapiro said. “I’m still very upset about it, that something like this could be on the market.”
