Ebola Czar Ron Klain Starts Wednesday; Won't Attend House Ebola Hearing

President Barack Obama’s new Ebola Czar won’t start until Wednesday, even though the White House announced his new role on Friday.

Although Klain has visited the White House since his appointment, White House Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz confirmed that he did not attend the Ebola meeting on Saturday.

As Vice President Joe Biden’s former chief of staff, Klain is expected to have a speedier confirmation process.

Schultz also confirmed that Klain will not attend a Friday House Oversight hearing on the government’s response to Ebola, although other administration officials will be attending.

Obama, now in Chicago for a series of speeches and fundraisers, is doing “a little bit of work from home” before returning to Washington, according to Schultz.
