On Sarah Palin’s 50th birthday, Duck Dynasty family patriarch Phil Robertson and other prominent figures and officials – like Ted Cruz, Mark Levin, Mike Lee, Condoleezza Rice, Donald Trump, John McCain, Deb Fischer, Allen West, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley – heartily wished the influential conservative a happy birthday.
SHE-Pac, the group that formed to elect more women Republicans, released a birthday video and urged supporters to sign a card online for Palin.
“The best is yet to come,” the video tribute reads after wishing Palin a happy birthday.
In the video, Rice congratulates Palin on finally making it to 50; Gingrich, who won the 2012 South Carolina GOP presidential primary largely because of the positive comments Palin made about him, calls Palin “a real hero to many Americans;” Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE), who defeated candidates backed by the Republican and conservative establishments in D.C. mainly because of Palin’s endorsement in the 2012 Nebraska GOP Senate primary, sends along her birthday wishes; Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) and his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, thank Palin for her endorsement that helped get Duffy to Washington.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) urges Palin to go moose hunting during her birthday, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who said he would not be in the Senate were it not for Palin, calls her a “warrior” for her “unwavering courage” and wishes her a happy birthday.
“I couldn’t be more proud to stand beside you to fight along the American people to save this great nation,” Cruz says. Palin fiercely backed Messrs. Lee and Cruz during the defund Obamacare battle.
Others wishing Palin a happy 50th birthday include former Rep. Allen West (R-FL) and his wife; Donald Trump, who calls Palin a “spectacular woman” with a fantastic husband and family; NRA President Wayne LaPierre; Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, whom Palin supported during the SB 1070 debate; conservative Star Pucker; Duck Commander Phil Robertson, who says Palin doesn’t “look a day over 40;” Rudy Giuliani; Orrin Hatch; Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), who wished her a happy 29th birthday; Lee Greenwood; Si Robertson, who says it is “29 and counting” for Palin; and former Rep. J.C. Watts (R-OK).
Palin stood up for Robertson when A&E suspended him for remarks that were supposedly “anti-gay,” while many establishment Republicans stood silent.
Conservative scholar and talk radio host Mark Levin, who will be keynoting an event to honor the five-year anniversary of the Tea Party movement this month, wished Palin a happy birthday and thanked her for her “wonderful contributions to try to save this republic.” Levin also said there are millions who could not be more pleased and grateful to have Palin as “our great leader.”
Priebus thanked Palin for her lifetime of service, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker also wished Palin a happy birthday.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who also got the state’s GOP nomination in 2010 with Palin’s endorsement, thanked Palin for “everything you’ve done for the conservative movement.” She said Palin has “moved this country” in so many ways and emphasized that Americans are more than pleased to have Palin in the country with her fight and passion.
McCain, who selected Palin to be his running mate in 2008 and put her on the national scene, said he would always be grateful to Palin.
Former South Carolina Senator and Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint said that Palin’s endorsement was the most influential in a GOP primary, and the officials Palin helped put in office prove that the candidates clamoring for her endorsement, and the establishment Republicans who sweat at the thought that Palin could endorse their primary opponents, show that Palin’s influence is hardly waning. The best may yet be still to come.
