Only 15% of Insured Americans Think Obamacare Will Help Them

Only 15% of insured Americans think that Obamacare will help them personally, according to a CBS/New York Times Poll. Both insured and uninsured Americans continue to have a negative view and disapprove of the new healthcare law. 

Overall, more Americans continue to disapprove (50%) than approve (39%) of the 2010 Affordable Care Act.

Insured Americans are not optimistic about the new healthcare law: 39% believe the new law will make the healthcare system worse, while only 37% think that it will improve healthcare in America. Although uninsured Americans have a more positive opinion than the insured, still more uninsured Americans think that Obamacare will hurt them than help them (37% to 33%). 

According to the poll, there is a political component to the way Americans view Obamacare. Almost three-quarters (72%) of Republicans think that the new law will make the healthcare system worse, while two-thirds (65%) of Democrats think the law will make the system better.
